Our newsletters will help to ensure all the related information for the MFs will be covered and delivered to the teams as they prepare for the coming Asian Weightlifting Championships. We would like to inform you about the COMPETITION PROGRAM and the applicable DEADLINES for the Asian Weightlifting Championships 2023 to be held in Jinju, Republic of Korea. ▢ Competition Program03 May 2023 / Verification of final entries & EB/Committees’ Meeting04 May 2023 / AWF Congress & TO Meeting05 – 13 May 2023 / Asian Championships (9 days) ▢ Key Dates- 05 February 2023 / Whereabouts information submission deadline*Following article 5.5.16 of the IWF Anti-Doping Rules & the Olympic Qualification System, the whereabouts information of the athletes shall be submitted at minimum three (3) months before the event (05 February 2023).An Athlete who does not comply with this provision is not eligible to compete at the IWF Event.- 02 March 2023 / Preliminary Entry submission deadline*Entries can only be registered via the IWF online entry system*Under the IWF TCRR, it is mandatory to register all your athletes/officials before the preliminary entry deadline for the IWF Events. IWF President·AWF Vice-President meets with the Jinju Organizing Committee ahead of 2024 Olympics Qualification Events   “We will do our best for making the athletes participate in the 2023 Asian Championships” having meetings, inspections, and forth. Major figures from the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) visited Jinju from the 20th to the 22nd of October 2022. The visits were made by the official invitation of Jinju City and the organizing committee of the 2023 Jinju Asian Weightlifting Championships for promoting Jinju City's charm and discussing agendas to successfully host the Events. A total of eight figures were invited including Mohammed Hasan JALOOD, president of the IWF, Abdullah Mohammed JARMAL, Vice President of the AWF, and Sung-Yong CHOI, President of the KWF.   Kyoo-il CHO, Mayor of Jinju city, prepared a discussion table and hosted the figures at the city hall's general business room on the 21st, "As the coming Championships is the first official international sports event in Jinju and an flagship competition to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, we will perform our best excellency in the preparation," he said. "We ask for the warm attention and support from the president of the IWF, vice president of the AWF, and president of the KWF so that all federal members of the Asian Weightlifting can join the event.”     A request from IWF and AWF: Supports DPRK and minor countries for their participation"IWF will endeavor various ways to help North Korea participate in the 2023 Jinju Asian Weightlifting Championships. Also, we ask Jinju city for cooperation to help small Asian countries have a chance to participate in the Championships," said Mohammed Hasan JALOOD, president of the IWF, “IWF will officially invite Kyoo-il CHO - the mayor of Jinju city, to the World Weightlifting Championships held in Bogotá, Colombia.”   Abdullah Mohammed JARMAL, vice president of the AWF, said the 2023 Jinju Asian Weightlifting Championships is an important competition to qualify for the Paris Olympics. “AWF will do our best to help Asian countries enter the event." he said, "We hope Jinju city to fully ready for accommodation, transportation services, and visa issuance so that not only attracts more Asian countries to participate but also be recalled as a magnificent international event.”   The delegation inspected Jinju Arena - the competition hall, function rooms, and training areas necessary for holding the competition, hence discussing issues necessary for holding the competition.
